Weighing between ten and twenty pounds, the Chum or Dog salmon is the second most popular salmon. Most fishermen fish for Chum salmon during winter months such as November and December. The largest of all Pacific Ocean salmon is the Chinook or King salmon. Because of its large size, the King salmon is a favorite among sport fishermen and can be found in many freshwater bodies from San Francisco to Alaska.
